Thomas L. Saaty Decision Making for Leaders Hackathon

Joseph M Katz Graduate School of Business University of Pittsburgh

Do you want to see how you can tackle the toughest decisions with confidence? Do you want to see how you can change the way we measure things?

Join the T.L. Saaty Decision Making for Leaders Hackathon, sponsored by the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh, to learn how to solve complex practical business problems using both hard data and your personal perspective and experiences. Experience new ways to provide custom solutions that reflect the way the company you work for operates and sees the world. During this event, you will learn decision-making techniques that will help you to stand out by teaching you how to avoid cookie-cutter solutions and easily explain your solution processes.

We will use Python along with the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to set up a decision model that can support the decision-makers in their efforts to find the best solution for their company, for this particular time and given the values and mission of this specific company. The competitors do not need any prior knowledge of Python or AHP before the event. Basic understanding of optimization knowlege will be helpful but is not required. The first two days will be dedicated to learning how to use Python and AHP and practicing with them. All attendees who complete the event will receive certificates from the Katz Graduate Program for their decision-making training.
